Yeah. Oklahoma City, Miami Heat, and LA Clippers are my favorite teams. What a frontrunner.

I LIKE THE TEAMS WITH LEBRON, KD, CP3 AND GRIFFIN ON THEM.

I hate OKC. Oklahomo City does not deserve a NBA team. It's a bullshit city in a flyover state. Seattle was robbed by a scumbag from Oklahoma who bought a decent team in a good city in order to move it to his own hick town. I would vote for the North Korean national team over OKC.

Besides, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka are extremely unlikeable.

I used to play and watch it a lot in my teens.

Now I see it as a boring childrens game. It's 30 seconds of action and then they stop play for free-throws - then repeat. Start - stop, and all the while you're watching for one big play

Also, since I've become a sort of WN, I'd rather watch and put money into white dominated sports, like Hockey, European Boxing, and MMA to some extent. All of which are also marginally more exciting to watch anyhow.

I like to watch during the playoffs since the regular season is too long. But last year it was tough watching Miami vs Oklahoma so I skipped on the finals. The year before with the Mavericks was one of the best finals I have seen and was thoroughly entertaining.

I think I will root for the underdog this year like the Lakers or even a team like the Spurs that is well balanced and mature. I can't see myself rooting for any of the other playoff contending teams except for maybe Houston. Any team but the Heat...

The T-Wolves is the exception, there hasn't been a team that white for probably over 30 years. And the team received a bunch of criticism for the "whiteness" by the liberals and other minorities for being "racist." Too bad they had some bad injuries or they could have done better and broken the stereotype that Europeans can't play.

It even goes beyond that. Have you ever been to Minnesota? It's a boring, cold place other and than Minneapolis, you would have to pay me to live there. Probably explains why there are so many Northern European descended people there lol.

How many of these Black athletes want to play in Minnesota unless the money incentive is better? They target players that want to play and stay there even though Rubio did hold out a few seasons.

A team like the Utah Jazz ,until recently, had a similar strategy but they were labeled as "racist" as well because the team was too "white."

I used to be a fan at school. My favourite team was Charlotte Hornets, because they had Muggsy Bogues (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muggsy_Bogues), who was 160 cm. While I'm considerably taller than average and it's not that I associated myself with him, I enjoyed this style involving a lot of assists and steals, and I thought it was neat he managed to become a good player in spite of a relative handicap. My other favourite players were John Stockton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Stockton) and Reggie Miller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggie_Miller). I thought they played intelligently.

I'm not really interested any more, however.

Back in the day Pre 80's or 90's the leagues were filled with whites and then whites dropped significantly. Most whites pursue other sports and most aren't interested in basketball.

But there's more whites today then there was 10 years ago due to the European influence and there's alot of quality players as well. Marc Gasol is probably the best Center in the game along with Pekovic. Manu Gibolli is probably a Hall of Fame player, Steve Nash 2x MVP, etc.

I don't think you know much of the NBA if you think Brook Lopez is better than Marc Gasol.. As for Dwight Howard when he's healthy he's the best center in the league but he hasn't been the same since his injury.

Marc Gasol is the most polished center in the NBA and is the most skilled center. He's not a stat whore so I guess that's why you don't think he's that good but the impact he makes is substantial.

This is true. Back in the day I was a baseball fan(Haven't watched an inning in years though) and they would constantly bring this up with that stat.. They would also mention how they need to increase minorities(Blacks) in the MLB and how they aren't doing enough, etc, etc..

They even do this in the NFL where they complain there's not enough black coaches.. There's a rule where every team must interview a black head coach. Then the media whines how black coaches aren't being hired and complain about a great injustice happening. Not to mention 60-70% of the league is black and whites do get shafted out in college and highschool.

alfieb
04-11-2013, 03:16 AM
Yes. The NFL has the Rooney Rule that says for every available coaching job, a black must be interviewed.

And the NFL has been pushing teams to give black quarterbacks a chance.

There's a one-way racism in American sports. If a black NHL player is on the ice, he is a brave innovator who is ignoring stereotypes to play the sport he loves, but if a white NBA player is on the court, he's soft, not as skilled, and has to rely on three pointers.

That too. But mostly white players are never given the chance to play skilled positions in football. There's countless examples of white players having to convert to fullback, safety, or TE so they don't play glamour positions.

For example a player like Wes Welker was a walk-on in college, Jordy Nelson wasn't allowed to play WR in college at first and was a safety, etc..

It's true he isn't ready, but he has talent. And you can't buy it. Or you born with talent or you'll never have it. He isn't as telentous as demarcus cousins, but could be the 2º best big man in the league. Utah jazz has a brilliant future.

Toughest stretch an NBA team is allowed to play...? I'd say this one - LAC's lates 5 games:

It's literally the hardest schedule a team can play in a calendar week by rule, but the Clippers are in the middle of a five-games-in-five-cities-in-seven-nights stretch right now.

Blurgh.

If there's a silver lining, it's that the opponents aren't too tough.

It started with total dominance of the Bulls and a hard-fought win in Toronto on the first back-to-back.

It continues tonight, against the league's worst team by record.

It concludes with another back-to-back against the Wizards and Warriors.

Asking us to play a road game against our biggest divisional rival in one of the league's toughest arenas at the end of that stretch is plain criminal. But it is what it is.

I was hoping we could get a couple of scheduled nights off against the Bucks and Wizards, maybe for Collison (toe) and Redick (back, shoulder, wrist). But after releasing Morris, I doubt that's going to be possible.

If the Clips manage to win all five of these without CP3, it would be the most impressive week the team's ever had in the regular season IMHO.
