Today marks the start of the Estonian Week cultural festival in Hungary.
The event, taking place for the sixth time, will this year be held in four cities: Budapest, Szeged, Debrecen and Szombathely.

According to the organizer, the Estonian Institute, the festival's offerings will include exhibitions, book presentations and concerts. There will also be film screenings accompanied by the chance to meet prominent directors such as Ilmar Raag and Toomas Hussar.

The opening day's speaker is Tiit Aleksejev, whose novel “Palveränd” (Pilgrimage) was translated into Hungarian last December.

Also as part of the festival, graphic artist Reti Saks will have her work displayed in Galéria IX in Budapest, and 10 other Estonian artists will be featured in the Finno-Ugric comics exhibition “Call it a Day” in the university city Szeged.
