The man who organised the "No" vote to the Lisbon Treaty in Ireland is setting up the first pan-European political party to fight next year's parliamentary elections. Declan Ganley says that it will be a single issue party, campaigning solely against the Lisbon treaty and what he believes is the anti-democratic nature of the European Union.

Listen to my interview with him (http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters/markmardell/2008/12/new_european_no_party.html).

It's important to remember that Ganley is not specifically Anti-EU. All nationalists and anti-EU types should just vote nationalist/populist if they want to hit the europhiles hard.

Correct. He's not anti-EU and there's certainly a smell of neo con off him but he has a lot of money and it's a massive bonus to have him on the No side. His politics are rubbish but if he can help to put a stop to this Lisbon Treaty nonsense once and for all then I wish him every success.
