You would know if you had to place him in Sicily that he is from the west considering types like him are more rare in Messina and Catania.

Yes, infact is from Mondello (near Palermo).

I saw that you had said it but even if not I'd have guessed it. He wouldn't be a typical face in eastern Sicily at all, but I've seen a number of people from Palermo like him in addition to the normal darker types.
