I've always wondered what it is about bugs which makes us so grossed out by them.

I don't mind any of them, except the spider.

But WTF is that in the second picture?? I have never seen anything like it!

They are quite lovely! It is a Malaysian giant long-legged grasshopper. (Looks more like a leaf-hopper than a grass-hopper!)

The only bugs I like are ladybugs, butterflies and honey bees.

Isopods aren't bugs, they're crustaceans.

And the cute little mouth!

I have held some large stick insects and other beetles before. I love the way their bodies feel, so smooth.

Anyone seen "Bug Wars"? It's Japanese "cock-fights" between bugs/insects. YouTube it.

I saw something a while back which was a camel spider vs scorpion. I can't remember who won. But if chased by a camel spider, I wouldn't be afraid at all. Because I know it can't swim in the pool of shit I'd leave behind if I saw it. :)

Yes apparently it was the Japanese tradition of Bug wars and insect collection that inspired one of the most successful games and media franchise Pokemon.

I believe those are not insects but crustaceans. I think Crustaceans are the only arthropods we don't disgust, I mean, we eat them, and they are very expensive.

Yes, you did!

I have a plague of millipedes at the moment. We call them shongololos. There are literally hundreds of them! HUNDREDS! They come in by the door, cling to the walls. They are all over.
