Computer/Tech Savy People. Help me buy a new laptop (Best ~$900 laptop out there?)

Does it look like a decent buy for the price, or is there anything out there better?

The specs are pretty good. Decent price, especially for an i7 processor. 4 stars is great, but not many reviews yet. Perhaps you should look for more reviews of this particular model someplace else?

Overall I like the Toshiba better. It's aesthetics and size and also better specs for the same price but it's got worse reviews.

I've always been a fan of macs. I currently have a macbook which I bought used for 600€.

Do you really need the discete VGA in there, unless you will hardcore game. The: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M. If you can get a model without this, it will be cheaper.
