Italy lauds Russia’s contribution to restoration of L’Aquila’s cultural heritage

An Italian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman has praised Russia’s contribution to reconstruction of historic buildings in L’Aquila that was hit by a devastating earthquake on April 6, 2009.
In an interview with the Voice of Russia on Thursday, Fabrizia Aquilio said that Russia had allocated nine million euros for the restoration of two quake-hit shrines in L’Aquila.
She particularly pointed to the fact that Russia became the first foreign state to focus on helping L’Aquila authorities restore the city’s cultural heritage.
