Nothing to do with you, but it reminds me of something. Some germans I chill out with claim for some reason russian heritage. But I think they say this only to be accepted by me and I must always hide my laugh when they say this xD

Polish and what was originally thought Russian. Although it is most likely Ukrainian given the location of origins as well as 23andme results which consistently turn up Ukraine or Russia in the Rostov region. Also, people in the family spoke of it being Russia, but during that time Ukraine was still part of the USSR.

Not a surprise, they are numerically almost 2/3 of Slavdom I think, so it only makes sense.
