What styles of non-European cuisine (eg Chinese) or specific dishes (eg Peking Duck) are your favourites?

Peking duck is a famous duck dish from Beijing that has been prepared since the imperial era, and is now considered a national dish of China.

I'm not saying it's Balkan, but just so you know, Turkey borrowed from alot of cultures in the Balkans, and other countries and incorporated it into its own culture.

Carribean spicing is meant to be subtle rather than overpowering. There is an Indian influence in the cuisine. It is refined, but not an intense mouth-hit.

Actually food we eat at our homes and food we eat outside are different..Turkish food we eat at home is quite simple not much spices ,sauces ,toppings or other fancy decorating .Also it changes region to region , hot and spicy food comes from southern parts but other regions use herbs more than spice.

Usually they follow this order:
Chop vegetables , fry the onion add tomato paste (or pepper paste ),add the meat ,add chopped vegetables salt water ..

this is how we make most of our meals..practically they are a bit soup like dishes , if we cook with olive oil we don't add meat ,then it becames a cold dish ,less soupy , we let the fluid evoporate and let the olive oil capture essense of herbs. They can be best vegetarian food because they are very traditional recipes ,well balanced in time ,most vegetarian recipes -cough cough- are cusinary nightmares

Second come the food made of dough ,mantı ,börek , gözleme (flatbread with fillings ,minced meat , spinach ,cheese etc ).These ones need skills for handling the dough.

And third come dairy products dried vegetables fruits ,pickled or fermented food usually our mothers were preparing for winter , dried soup mix tarhana is one of them practically it is dried powdered flour ,yeast ,yogurt ,onion , red bell pepper puree (a few more ingredients ) our traditional instant soup .

Fancy food like kebabs are made by proffesional cooks .Not much people can make them also it's hard to provide appropriate fireplace .

We don't add orange juice normally ,it is blog owners suggestion

I dislike almost everything. Actually I like grapefruit but only in very small doses.

You like Chinese food, which is heavy on the sweet, sour, salt and umami tastes. The spices are simple, and none of them are bitter.

That you dislike grapefruit in larger doses might indicate that you dislike bitter flavours. Many people are hypersensitive to bitter flavours, and it is genetic. The bitter flavour can indicate poisonous content.

Here are some examples of bitter foods:

Bitter Taste:

bitter melon (!) and gourd

Japanese eggplant

turmeric

fenugreek seeds

leafy greens

barley

basil

nettle

I think that these are some of the possible culprits that, for you, make Caribbean foods taste unpalatable.

Another indicator is how much you might like or dislike tonic water, which contains bitter quinine.

Interesting. I like lettuce and basil ok. Anything like spinach or kale I can't tolerate in my mouth for one second, though. I thought basil was sweet, not bitter.

Usually I like simple foods. Raw onions make me very ill. I can taste chemicals in many processed foods that other people don't seem to, that ruin them. Most packaged deserts are like that now. I like hot spices, though, and love curry powder and cayenne.

I am not sure there is any simple pattern to my dislikes, except that I seem to be sensitive to strong flavors.

Sister is same way or even worse. My brother seems to eat anything at all.

As did I, but the chart suggests that basil is sweet and bitter.

Hot spices are described as being 'pungent', so those spices would be cayenne, clove, garlic, ginger and mustard, for example, according to the chart. I would include black pepper.

There is one way to find out what your Prakruti and Vikruti are, and that would be to answer this quiz:

http://doshaquiz.chopra.com/

My guess would be that your Prakruti (basic nature) is Pitta-Kapha with a Vikruti (current state of imbalance) suggesting Vata imbalance.

The theory is this: everyone's body is an expression of the five elements, air, water, fire, earth and ether, and in turn the doshas are composed of the five elements:

Prakruti is fixed, although everyone's Prakruti is unique, natrually, but Vikruti changes, and as we get older, we become more Vata-influenced. As children we are more Kapha, as adults, Pitta.

Anyway, there is more, such as the Gunas:

One might see a well-lived life as a journey away from Tamas towards Sattvas.

I would never want to bore anyone with this. It can be a useful science, so I like to share it.

Perhaps I might start a thread: What is your Prakruti and Vikruti?

conversation mood :I don't talk a lot and I tend to put it simple without much words .But my sentences are long sometimes to avoid misundertandings.
shopping : I only buy what I need and leave to shop as quick as I can. At shops I grasp for air I can't stand long times inside esp in the loud ones.I hate anounces and all electronic voices .
stress response : how can i fix it

I may be a capha living in a vata body .Despite my metabolism is low ,I spend energy of a toddler .I am too squirrely for my age but I feel drained easily .I put spices a lot and like hot food almost boiling, soups , coffee , meat products, seafood .I don't like cold served food ,dry food or bisquits .
I m trying to gain energy with stimulating spicy or fatty food. I don't gain weight easily of lose weight despite slow metabolism...Weird combination.
I sometimes I don't notice i m hungry even it reached to the level of fatique. My appetite also imbalanced. I have short gluttony attacks later I hardly eat or eat very less. I talk about food a lot but very picky at table lol
