Alot has changed since the last results I received from McDonald. Although I still get 100% total Europe in the written form.

Here is my first test results from a while back:

Most likely fit is 70.5% (+- 15.4%) Europe (all Southern Europe)

and 29.5% (+- 15.4%) Europe (various subcontinents)

which is 100% total Europe

The following are possible population sets and their fractions,

most likely at the top

Tuscan= 0.805 Lithuani= 0.195 or

Tuscan= 0.635 Hungary= 0.365 or

Tuscan= 0.772 Belorus= 0.228 or

Tuscan= 0.391 Romania= 0.609 or

Tuscan= 0.815 Finland= 0.185 or

Tuscan= 0.812 Russian= 0.188

This looks very much like what the green spot on teh map says: Balkan.

Here are my recent results:

Most likely fit is31.8% (+- 10.3%) Europe (various subcontinents)
and 68.2% (+- 10.3%) Europe (all Southern Europe)
which is 100% total Europe

The following are possible population sets and their fractions,
most likely at the top
Irish= 0.243 Tuscan= 0.757 or
English= 0.289 Tuscan= 0.711 or
Germany= 0.271 Tuscan= 0.729 or
Poland= 0.229 Tuscan= 0.771 or
Hungary= 0.356 Tuscan= 0.644 or
Lithuania= 0.193 Tuscan= 0.807 or
English= 0.501 Sicily= 0.499 or
Germany= 0.477 Sicily= 0.523 or
French= 0.391 Tuscan= 0.609 or
Belorus= 0.228 Tuscan= 0.772

other similar fits are
Poland 0.3860 Sicily 0.6140 or
Germany 0.4675 Sicily 0.5325 or
Tuscan 0.2041 Romania 0.7959 or
Romania 0.9019 Sephardic 0.0981 or
Romania 0.9356 Jewish 0.0644 or
Sicily 0.1384 Romania 0.8616

and they all agree that the average is somewhere between Italy and Serbia.
However, pure Romania is not actually a really bad fit.

Interesting that your admix results are still fully European when your new Chromosome paintings show up with a good amount of it painted Mideast.

60% Sicily, 40% Poland approximately, is very interesting. It doesn't surprise me. I've seen Greek results be 66% Sicily, 34% Hungary.

It's confusing. I think the chromosome painting shows ancient admixture. Most Balkan users get similar results in there chromosome paintings. I think Duskfall got similar results to me?

But I still don't understand why it had such a drastic change from my first test to the second one? :confused:

I sent the following questions to McDonald regarding my new results. It looks like he has recently done some changes to his program.

Question 1:

How do I get so much mid-east in my chromoome painting when all my population sets are European and when it says 100% total Europe?

Answer:

Its because of how I choose which populations to call Mideast and which European,
and which of each to choose as representative of their areas. The DNA itslef
varies fairly smoothly from east to west along the northern and eastern
shores of the MEditerranean. My cut in fact lies bewteen the Black Sea
and Sicily: Jews(both kinds) are barely Mideast, Sicilians are barely European.
Greeks would be just even less barely European. Serbs are right on the
border ... both they, Jews, and Sicilian can, in some people, appear
50-50 on the chromosome painting.

Question 2:

Are these type of results common for Balkan people in your opinion?

Answer:

So the answer is yes, and not by accident.

I had to do it this way to make everything else look reasonable. I don’t
want Palestinians, for example, looking 80% European, which would
happen if I made Jews pure European. And also, it fits nicely
with the ethnic history of Greece, Sicily, Malta, Crete, and Cyprus.

Im struggling to make sense of this actually.
