Modern European ADMIXTURE components = Neolithic ecological zones (+ post-Neolithic in-situ expansions)

http://eurogenes.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/modern-european-admixture-components.html

This is a follow-up thread to this topic (http://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?77378-Neolithic-mitochondrial-haplogroup-H-genomes-and-the-genetic-origins-of-Europeans), but its more advanced and so i made a new thread.

Looks like we will see some advanced admixture runs coming out from eurogenes soon regarding this topic :)

I like that they are now focusing on ancient components that make-up the majority of our DNA, debunking ideologies based on modern linguistic groups and recent population movements to a large degree...But i must admit i am very ignorant about these older cultures...

Yes this certainly is very interesting and I do indeed think Polako is right about all of this. He really does not need to do anymore advanced ADMIXTURE runs about this topic though as they have already been done. Both he and Dienekes discovered that based on autosomal DNA that Europeans are made up of three main ancestral components. As he mentions these are North European, Mediterranean and West Asian. I am sure he will still keep coming out with some new different ADMIXTURE runs as well though which should also be quite interesting.

Yes, but hopefully he will be able to refine it further..

Yes there is a chance that he may but I do remember him mentioning before that certain components such as the North European component are actually very hard to break down. Time will tell.

Ooops sorry evon I see now that you asked him if he could make a new ADMIXTURE run relating to this data and he said he will try it out this weekend! Awesome stuff!

Looks like he thinks the K9 at GEDmatch will do the trick.

As he mentions these are North European, Mediterranean and West Asian.

What is this "West-Asian" component?

What is this "West-Asian" component?

The West Asian component is the dominant component in Anatolia, the northern parts of the Near East and in the Caucasus.
