It seems that Serbs from Kosovo do not trust Serbian government, as various government officials stated to various media. They have sent an open letter to Russian president Putin with a plea to help Serbia and Serbs in protecting the country’s integrity and constitutionality, reported “Kurir” on Wednesday.
Board members of four municipalities in north Kosovo have sent on Wednesday an open letter to the national leadership of Russian Federation with a plea for them to help Serbian government to return the negotiations process under the auspices of the UN Security Council.
In the letter adopted by board members of four municipalities from north Kosovo is stated that it is necessary that International Community on the level of UN Security Council adopt legitimate solutions regarding Kosovo issue, or a new resolution that Serbia would ratify in accordance with its Constitution.
“We address you with a plea to help us and authorities in Belgrade in protection of the constitutional order of the Republic of Serbia on Kosovo as well as UN SC Resolution from unilateral actions of Washington, Brussels and Pristina, who are trying to impose the solution to their “advantage”,” says the letter.
The letter was forwarded to addresses of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, president of the Council of Federation Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of State Duma Sergei Naryshkin and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.
The letter also notes that Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija will fight for their “constitutional and human rights, for honor and national dignity of Serbia, against military-political, economic and spiritual enslavement of Serbian people”.
Earlier former state secretary for Kosovo and Metohija, Oliver Ivanovic underscored in an interview that Serbs from Kosovo trust completely to Serbian government and have full faith in it. However, a drastic measure like sending an open letter to Russian government officials with a plea for help proves exactly the opposite.
On Wednesday, during a joint session in Zvecan that gathers Councillors from four municipalities with Serb majority population, Chief of the Kosovska Mitrovica District Radenko Nedeljkovic said that he expressed the stand at the meeting in Belgrade on Tuesday that the Brussels agreement is unacceptable for Serbs in KiM because it entails the shutdown of institutions of the Republic of Serbia in the province.
