Eye color is a trait inherited by multiple genes but one gene OCA2 seems to be responsible for the main division beetween light and dark eyes, other genes could explain the difference beetwen pure blue and blue/green for light eyes, light brown and dark brown for dark eyes etc.
So if we consider only this gene all europeans coud be homozygous recessive (light eyes), heterozygous (dark eyes but can have offsprings with light eyes) and homozygous dominant (dark eyes).
I have seen some studies about the % of people having light/dark eyes in Europe but I wonder.
Are there studies that could approximate those who are homozygous/heterozygous dominant in Europeans countries exist ???
