BEIRUT: Austrian Defense Minister Gerald Klug arrived to Lebanon Friday and will inspect his country’s peacekeeping troops working with the United Nations mission in the south of the country.
Klug who arrived on a private jet from Cyprus is also expected to hold a series of meetings with Lebanese officials.
Commander of the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon Major-Gen. Paolo Serra welcomed Klug at Rafik Hariri International Airport.
Austria has contributed 153 troops to the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon authorized under U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701.
