Every village in my region Slavonia has its biblical patron, for example Sveti Ivan, Sveti Andrija, Sveti Matej, etc. And every year on a specific date each village has a celebration called Krivaj. On that day people go to church, comes as guests familiy relatives from other villages and family friends. Mothers cook lunch, usually pork, filled peppers, lots of cookies. And on the streets of the village are stands with gingerbread hearts, carousel, all kinds of cheap toys that children love to buy.
