Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, stated in Sofia, where he met with Bulgarian Prime Minister Marin Raikov, that Prishtina is working on getting the recognition from the members of EU that still haven’t done that, reported B92.
Thaci said that he is convinced that Serbia and Kosovo will implement the Brussels agreement, and for him, it’s sort of a ”mutual recognition”.
Thaci understands that five countries that didn’t recognize Kosovo are supporting normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, but that they will decide to recognize Kosovo in the end. At this moment, Prishtina is lobbying in those countries in order to get a recognition. Bulgarian Prime Minister gave support on this mutual conference to Thaci’s vision of Kosovo in EU.
Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Slovakia and Romania are still refusing to recognize Kosovo, and their support to Serbia is significant. Also, Vatican’s officials stated that there is no reason to give recognition to Kosovo.
