Jobbik says Hungary should focus on opening to eastern markets over EU, slams government over rising debt

Hungary should focus on successfully opening its markets to the east instead of “one-sided dependence on the EU,” the deputy group leader of the radical nationalist Jobbik party said.

Janos Volner told the press that instead of the illusion of economic growth based on western growth, the country could finally stand on its own feet.

The government’s efforts to combat public debt have failed, he said. A report by the National Bank of Hungary shows that public debt reached 82.2 percent of the GDP at the end of the first quarter. He noted that at the end of the first quarter of 2010, public debt also stood at 82 percent but since then, nearly 3,000 billion forints worth of private pension funds have disappeared and the government introduced “quite a few austerity measures” without making a real impact on the economy.

Completely true. Well-said by Jobbik.
What economic model do they propose more broadly?
