Or do you think its genetics, because Russians like fins were this time the highest scored Europeans tough this time we were better than finns. And we both have the most east asian genetic influence of all white people like the following map shows.

We knew that Finland was always off in comparison to other western countries in education but now russias also doing fine makes it really realistic that it has something to do with genetics since both countries have the most east asian influence.

Another interesting fact is that Kazakhstan was higher than ukraine in math. Ukraine clearly seems like the cultural closer country to Russia but it has lower ethnic Russians than Kazakhstan. Israel was also very high but has 25% russian jews who maybe mixed with russians and are heavily russified.

For smart, you just have to measure what has the culture /race/species achieved on their own, without imitations. Otherwise this data could be biased as propaganda or based on abstraction exercises (abstract is something the asian / asian mixed individuals are much about), or just data memorization. Without West imitation, everything else is medieval tops, so smar could be easy to argue.

france wasnt tested only specific countries you see on that list, but you can look at pisa and compare where they would be here with same performance.

What I can tell you is that a couple of years in my high schol there was a red russian who was studying there and according to some (He was not in my class) he was a iving legend in maths.
His maths level was very high compare to the level in france.
Quite normal in france the dificulty of th studis has been falling for decades due to "democratization" of school.

You don't think it can be due to the high cost of immigration and of foreigners that force the French government to cut back on funds to schools and education? I know this is the case in Sweden together with significant tax reductions and stupid subventionings mostly related to freshly arrived MENA-immigrants. Schools are really poor right now unless in predominately MENA-populated areas where they get all the money(yet most students here fail their grades)... :(
