The exotic plants to try before you die
Scientists have drawn up a list of almost 100 exotic fruits and vegetables they believe everyone should eat before they die.

But these exotic fruits and vegetables could soon be found on Britain’s kitchen tables, if scientists at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, west London, have their way.
They have drawn up a list of weird and wonderful edible plants that they say everyone should try at least once. The list contains a fruit that has a scent of rotting onions and sweat, another that can kill if picked too early and a bean that makes anyone eating it smell repulsive.
The experts believe that with 80 per cent of the world’s food coming from a handful of plants, it is time that a wider selection is used.
