He is one of the teachers on Degrassi; The Next Generation.

Which parts of Greece does he fit in best? I think he looks kind of Albanian so I would guess Epirus. His last name is Melissis so I am unsure where exactly that comes from, but it's not Cretan or Pontic, that I know.

alfieb does he pass as Sicilian? Or would you be more likely to guess something in the Balkans?

I think he is Macedonian Greek because I read once that his family is "Macedonian"... but his surname is not Macedonian or Slavic, it is Greek. So whoever wrote that probably assumed he was from FYROM but really his parents are from Macedonia in Greece.

Because Macedonian = Greek, just like Cretan = Greek, Pelopponesian = Greek, Rhodian = Greek.

His name could be from all around Greece, and it shows that some forefather was a beekeeper or something (melissa means bee), because many people were taking their surnames based on their proffesion.

How typical is his look for Greece?

Normal. He wouldn't stand out, that's sure.
He reminds me of some Pelloponesian (sharper facelines, strong noses) but you can't really say.
