Famous for his roles as cockney East-End London gangsters, as well as numerous hollywood films such as 'Who framed Roger Rabbit', 'Hook' and 'Mermaids'.

His grandmother was a Romany Gypsy, from wikipedia:

He looks quite south eastern European/Jewish to me. His look is very typical amongst London East-End Jewish people.

Yeah, in Hackney/the east end of London there are tons of different types of Jewish people. Mostly Yiddish but there are other types too. From what I've heard the Yiddish Jewish people arrived more recently (though there is a huge amount of them) wheras the other types of Jewish people came around WW2 I think. There's been quite a bit of mixing with these WW2 Jews and English people, so many English Londoners (mostly elderly cockneys from the east end) have some distant Jewish ancestry. Bob reminds me slightly of Alan Sugar (jew from Stamford Hill, Hackney) and Mitch Winehouse.

Charlie Chaplin is another Jew or Gypsy East-Ender depending on the account (I suspect part-Jews said Gypsy because it sounded more glamourous) because if you look at his mother She looks very Jewish;

I think probably Gypsy sounded more exotic than saying Jewish but then again there were other Jewish-Gypsy mixes in the East-End like the infamous Kray Brothers;
