His last name is al-halabi (Alppo), so he might has Syrian ancestry and i think he can pass there with no problem.

I understand that guy have Levantine ancestry, but he looks nothing like a Russian Jew.

looks like an armenian from syria or lebanon, so I guess Armenoid Levantine?
