If a Frenchman of Breton origin was visiting the US as a tourist and you ask him what he is, he's going to tell you he's French, not Breton. If he goes to Germany and they ask him he's going to say the same thing. Every white person in France has a specific regional origin. France was originally a celtic nation with the gauls and bretons are celtic people so they are descendants of the original frenchmen if anything.

You cannot compare Corsicans with Bretons. The ethnic background of the Bretons is almost excatly the same as the rest of France. The same can't be said about Corsica. But there arn't any Corsican players in the French squad, or else I would have posted them together with the other Frenchmen.
