In my opinion he fits as levantine and atypical north african.

He has an East Med vibe + slight Apinization/Pontid + maybe some slight CM (maybe Berid influenced?)
I guess I can see him fitting through most of the Mediterranean areas sans S. France and S. Spain.

Yes, I see that too - but there is still something going on in his appearance that seems S. Europe > Caucasus.
