Great poll, My very favorite isn't on there. I really enjoyed the Pocahontas Disney movie. But I voted for my other favorites.

No question. Sleeping Beauty has, IMO, the most beautiful medieval inspired art, such a lush and leit-motif filled score and a wonderful tale that just screams of its Germanic mythological influences.

Time will tell on that one, but back to topic, Beauty and the Beast painted a lovely picture of rural France for me.I've always loved that movie.

You're welcome. pollster. Now, which movie(s) do you prefer? Bantering's good fun, but one liners don't say a lot about your cinematic preferences.

Darby O'Gill and the Little People was good.It was startling to see Sean Connery as a young man, but his talents were apparent even then.

They definitely were. He sure was cute as a young man, but not as handsome as my husband.

No actress, past, present or future, will be able to compare with the brilliant beauty of my wife. How about Mary Poppins? Dick Van Dyke(Dijk?) was a brilliant actor himself.

None of them. I wish Hannibal Lecter was around when Walt Disney made these films. :)

Mrs. G

I don't that would have been gross. I don't care for Hannibal. To each their own I guess.

I grew up with "Lion King". Also liked very much "Bambi" no matter it's based on a novel (which I've also read) from a Jewish writer Felix Salten, banned by the Nazis;)

My favorite isn't included in the poll (Fantasy). I think that was the most classic and superior work ever :thumbs

Of those listed (second poll, Mrs. G? :p), I picked The Incredibles. My favorite just might be Nightmare Before Christmas. When my (now adult) daughter was young, we'd come back after trick or treating and pop the VHS of Nightmare in the player and sort her candy (Daddy gets the Reese's!) while watching the movie. It brings back special memories. Now, my son (who is much younger--fifteen year gap!) thought that Finding Nemo was the best thing ever--until he found out about Godzilla movies! :thumb001:

Two Disney films that I like are Fantasia (1940) and The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh (1963, actually a miniseries). The starring role in Scarecrow was played by Patrick McGoohan. :)

When i was little i saw the film Peter Pan, the ticking of the clock and the crocodile stalking Captain Hook terrified me, so i voted for this classic old Disney 1953 film.

Nightmare before Christmas is not Disney, is it? :icon_ask:

Oh, most certainly it is! Every Disney Store stocks tons of Nightmare stuff. It was directed by Tim Burton under the Touchstone banner, which is owned by Disney. We took the boy to Disneyworld this past June, and among the Mickey Mouse and other character-costumes were Jack and Sally! Quite cool!
