Nearly 60% of black and African people living in Russia's capital Moscow have been physically assaulted in racially motivated attacks, says a new study.

Many of the attacks on Africans were pre-meditated and extremely violent, the report found.

One Nigerian migrant interviewed by the BBC had been repeatedly stabbed in the back and then shot.

Another man said his attacker had attempted to remove his scalp.

Officially there are some 10,000 Africans living in Moscow, but far more are believed to live there illegally - many as economic migrants.

It is news to me that 10,000 Africans are living in Moscow.

The Russian economy is not the most attractive one (to their advantage of course) plus they don't seem like a very immigration-tolerant nation. The fact that they're not into the EU should only make it harder for those people to get residency permits, jobs and state benefits like they do in the "progressive" West...

Any growing economy such as Russia's today is attractive to immigrants, and it always has been, this is not a matter of liking or not liking, but a need of labor.

I think that on nowadays it is easier for an African immigrant to find a decent job in Moscow than in any country ditto "West"..

I was talking with a Russian friend who is studying in the states not too long ago, he's got a "solution" for these Negroes. :D He's planning on returning to Russia in the near future, and what he proposed may border on 'illegal' so I am not going to repeat it on this forum here. :thumb001:

Russia is only second to USA what comes to luring immigrants. If US is for Mexicans, Russia is same for Central Asians. Last year alone Russia got 7 million immigrants from old Soviet republics, now independent Central Asian countries. Black in Russian language does not mean black in English language. Black in Russian means Caucasians (Chechen etc) or Central Asians (Uzbeks etc). Russian Federation would collapse wihtouth massive immigration from "black" countries. 1/3 of Moscow's population is "black".

Sounds to me like Russia will soon become a world power once more since they don´t seem to be getting bogged down by immigrants demanding everything under the sun. Hell I´d be willing to bet that most would-be trouble-makers are flat out too scared to raise any hell. The EU allows themselves to be walked all over, but Russia doesn´t put up with shit. A friend of mine from Germany who is originally from the Ukraine traveled east recently and informed me that peoples in Eastern Europe and Russia have very little tolerance for foreigners.

So I recommend you not travel to these places on your next vacation.. :D
