Gunmen believed to be Islamists from Nigeria's Boko Haram insurgent group killed 42 people, mostly students, in an overnight attack on a secondary school in restive Yobe state, a medical worker and residents said Saturday.

"We received 42 dead bodies of students and other staff of Government Secondary School (in) Mamudo last night. Some of them had gunshot wounds while many of them had burns and ruptured tissues," Haliru Aliyu of the Potiskum General Hospital told AFP.
A local resident confirmed the death toll in the attack, the latest blamed on Boko Haram in Nigeria's volatile northeast.

I think war is completely different level, there is no place for religion. It is usable when, for example, politicians don't want indigenous people to mix up with Muslim immigrants, then they just write cartoons about Muhammad and the level or intolerance increases. Thus, though some people take it as a war of religions, the purpose of all the wars is resources or territories. It's always funny how Muslims think there is a war against them. No we don't. Palestinians were welcomed and treated very well in Iraq. You can try to paint the Palestinian treatment in Lebanon or Syria, with that of Iraq. In fact many Palestinians rose to high ranks. However most of the community has fled to South America amidst the tribal and sectarian fighting that was unleashed. As well in the Arabian Gulf, many Palestinians worked and even today, they are not mistreated, however many were expelled from Kuwait because they supported Iraq's annexation.
