I think the Celtic languages could be knocked back far earlier than 400BC, perhaps even as early as 1000BC.

There is debate over the origins of the Pelasgians, so the presence of IE speakers in the Aegean might be earlier.

Well they do have gaullish at 600 b.c. I'm sure the continental languages pre-date the isle ones. It can't be much older than that. You'll start bordering the split between italic and celtic languages.

Edit: The map is pretty tough to read, but it looks like they have celtiberian at 700 b.c

Well, it's debateable, some linguists say that the Brythonic languages could be 4,000 years old, but they're at least 2,000 years old IMO - they were spoken here when the Romans arrived.

I agree. Celts inhabited Gaul in 1000BC and they spoke Celtic languages. These languages are however now extinct as only the insular Celtic languages survived to evolve into what´s now Welsh, Gaelic, et. al.
