In fact, I would say that if you don't have tattoos for a specific, positive, cultural or occupational reason which is good (like being a Maori or in some branch of the military) then tattoos are negative by default.

Many years ago, I read some comments from this white Canadian guy on another forum, about how he was "racially profiled" because of all the tattoos he had. Although he was heavily mocked and ridiculed, I think there is some truth to the social perception of tattoos. When average people see someone covered with very conspicuous tattoos, they apply stereotypes to them. I'm sure police, also, profile people in this way.

When I went to D.R most Dominicans considered themselves superior to Haitians. I don't think admixture has to do with anything. If I was racemixed I would have probably joined "la Raza". Which is what most race mixed latinos do.

Yet those same people would call a black person nigger and tell them their hair is kinky,greasy and they look like monkeys.
