If you watch number 9 (very light blonde) in the different angle pictures they seem more right, I was hanging with my big alpine head over the light so the frontal pictures are darker

Clearly, you have no red tones in your hair at all. When Brits have their hair dyed the blond/e the colour underneath is invariably red!

Each time I go to the hair salon (which is only four times a year), I ask them to put in lighter highlights at the end, back-combed so that the colour is diffused along the strand.

The colourist has to see how much red I have underneath the other type of melanin and adjust the tone accordingly. The quest for blond is endless.

That is a very strong color. I did it once and it made my eyes pop. Very few people can pull it off though.

It all depends really, I have a lady friend with dark blue eyes and pitch black hair, seems to work pretty well in my opinion, but then again, it all depends on the person.

Think about it, once you dye your hair black, it's nearly impossible to go back to your natural colour, I tell you from experience. My hair will never be my natural colour again unless I bleach it... :(

Going blond/e is so difficult. There are so many techniques and approaches that I feel that I have to learn them myself not to end up with a bad job when I see my colourist.

Does anyone have any advice for someone with mid-brown hair who wants to look as though the sun has blonded his hair?

I am repeating myself, but my colourist takes sections that she backcombs to blend the edge, and puts into foils. She uses two different shades. Perhaps the OP would know. Naturally, my hair goes a golden blond colour in the sun. My colourist has not yet used bleach, just ammonia colours.

One time a hairdresser told me that everyones (probably Euros) hair has red undertones especially when their hair is bleached, thats why many people who die their hair themselves end up looking orange or yellow.

Yes. Go out and let the summer sun bleach your hair naturally.

Guys should never dye their hair.

I heard that some use lemon juice and rub it into the hair, then stay out in the sun for extra sun bleaching. Not sure how effective it is though.

What was your hair color before you died it like how it is because I have brown/black hair and I've tried to do that color but it never really comes out well (like it can only be seen in bright sunlight).

Also OP may I ask why you have this lying around in your house?

Lemon juice will not bleach your hair to platinum. Neither will henna (https://www.morroccomethod.com/shop?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=105&category_id=17)(widely considered far more safe than industrial bleach but permanent, so you can't dye your hair with a traditional dye afterwards and resulting color cannot be stripped) unless your hair is already a shade of blonde.

L'oreal powder blue bleach is relatively safe if used properly. It worked well for me. You just need to deep condition like heck afterwards and use products/treatments suited for color treated hair.

Is this because you want a female monopoly on beauty? I notice that you yourself have favoured the fake look.

I tried it on the front middle section, and it frazzled that section. The answer is technology and technique, the question is: which?

This would result in an unnatural shade of blond with obvious dark roots upon regrowth. I just have sections of my ends highlighted with the shade that my hair naturally blonds to in the sun, using foils, but I want to know more about technique. As I go to the salon only four times a year, I do not want to risk having dark regrowth, needing the roots to be retouched, and it would not look natural, which is what I want.

It can turn out very unnatural-looking, so try digitally manipulating your hair color to see how it looks.

I had very dark brown hair for a couple of months and while it contrasted against my pale skin, it wasn't the most flattering (in photos mainly).

My hair colour was medium brown that would become light brown in the summer. Now it's a lot darker.
