Ever since the birth of life tools have been at the front of an increasing brain.
The Neanderthal man had a larger brain then modern man,yet they did not make more sophisticated tools or art than the Cro-Magnon.
The Neanderthal seem to have disappeard and the Cro-Magnon too.(Maybe transformed into another population)
I would suggest that if a "Sapiens" keep its technology constant and the environment changes, Sapiens dies.

But what if-like modern men-the environment is constant but the technology changes at an alarming rate, will modern men die out too. ???????

Surely to much advanced technology is detrimental to the Environment and well being of humanity Brave new World comes to mind and Abortion and less fortunate human beings unable to absorb the new technology.
