I think that the folks who made the documentary went to North Korea with a disrespectful attitude. This is a country which rebuilt itself from almost nothing and, with the Juche idea, Soviet support and a command economy, actually out-paced the South in the 1950's and 1960's. If there were fewer sanctions, I believe that their system would work brilliantly. They are a marvelous and racially homogeneous nation and have a great deal to be proud of.

The world should be a little more open-minded about North Korea. Our Western propaganda surely paints a picture far worse than reality. North Korea probably has a dual economy; a mix of first and third world, and co-operative economics of the nationalist variant could unlock enormous hitherto unrealised potential, and I would imagine that similar reforms are taking place there as have happened in China, and that we will see incredible growth in the future.
