Hi

I have been curious about a photo of my grandfather from around the 30's. I was discussing with my dad about if there are any Northern European roots in our blood and he was unsure. My grandfather did have blond hair and blue eyes (He was born in England). I do know a little about racial classifications but i can't seem to work out what sub race he belongs to (Nordic, Alpine ect). would anybody have an opinion on the photo?

Thanks

TJ

PS: Its a bit far fetched but hopefully someone can settle my curiosity!!

Also:I posted this before on the wrong part of the forum so here it is again.

Hi

Thanks for that, i did have a little feeling that he had a Scandinavian look to him. I have a second photo of a Great Uncle (he had blue eyes, Auburn and brown hair) from the other side of the family, he seems to have the same look as my grandfather. would you say they were from the same sub-race?

Thanks

I would say both are Nordo-CM.

Hi

Cheers for the help on the two photos. I do have one last relative I'm trying to work out what sub-race he belongs to, i had a feeling he is Med or something along those lines. He did have jet black hair, brown eyes and was of a short stature. What can you make of it?

Many Thanks

Even if they are Nordid, and they could pass in Scandinavia, I'm not sure if it really means that they have to be Scando-derived. Aren't there Nordids that look specific to certain countries? Wouldn't a Dutch "Nordid" tend to look more Dutch than anything? What about a portugese/spanish "Nordid"?

Hi

Cheers for that, i always had a felling he was Med due to me have his big eyebrows!!!
Its seem his Grandfather had the same Med look so i guess the Med gene is fairly dominant compared to other northern European sub-races.
