Yes he really looks European and this is not only his pigmentation which give this impression, but this could be as well his facial expression adding to it :)

He actually looks very similar to me. Same hair, nose, eyes, and general features. Strange.

I think this is rather Vandal re-emergence in him.

edit:
Could be also something more recent - for example European parent.

I have less of a jaw, and a rounder face, but other than that do you see a resemblance?

Are you saying I'm not exotic? :(

Anyway, I think that he doesn't show many non-European features. Is he just a result of genetic improbability with berber input?

Twistedmind

Blonde? He looks light brown on most of pictures to be honest. Berberid with Nordo-Mediteranid strains. Berberids (http://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?13698-Questions-Southern-Cromagnoids%28Berberids-and-peripheral-types%29) can be light

I do not know your ancestors, I can not tell if you're exotic, this man I do not see him fitting in anywhere, perhaps in America where there is plenty diversity.

Tlemcen received 50.000 Moriscos and was called the North African Granada. Light eyes, blond hair and Europid features are not uncommon in the cities where they settled.

His hair is dark blonde in first picture for 100%.
But I am also not sure how to call this colour to be honest.
Still definitely more blonde than let's say ... Dexter Morgan or Zarathustra

This is light brown according to me just to keep it straight:

No such thing as European features. A Sicilian, or Greek for example would look much closer to a Lebanese than a Russian.

Yes. Because he is French. Partially at least. You guys seriously believe there are Algerians who have lived in Algeria for thousands of years and are a modern manifestation of ancient light Berber/Vandal types? Come on, light Berbers (Zidane) look Med, this guy has northern French features, look at the second picture.

European is largely a geographical and political construct. If Cypriots were Islamic they would not be defined as European.

According to this social construct, I'm supposed to relate to a Finn more than an Armenian based on geography.

Lol, 70% is too much. Cypriots cluster genetically with Greeks (among others), so obviously they can't be 70% Middle Eastern when Greeks are ~0%.

Cypriots do not cluster with mainland Greeks. They cluster at the end of the Sephardic Jews.

@Horatio: I can't really read the map you posted there. And I don't see Greeks in it so we don't know where they would be (somewhere between Cypriots and Tuscans I imagine). But based in common sense and observation, 70% *Middle Eastern* (Middle East = Iraq, Saudi Arabia etc) for Cypriots is ridiculous.
