Looks basically like a darker than usual atlanto-med/bruenn to me, do we have more detailed information about his ancestry?

It just says he's born in Scotland. He could be ethnic Scottish but looks to be 1/2 Italian, Spanish or something similar.

Yeah he does give me a Gaelic Irish vibe. ;)

if he's Catholic, then he's most likely of Gaelic Irish ancestry. Very few Scottish Catholics are all ethnically Lowland Scots/Scottish people, most have Gaelic Irish ancestry from the famine & more recent times. Besides Highland Scots are basically the same ancestors of the Irish Catholics. ;)
