Australian officials have announced at least 80 Australians are fighting along with the armed terrorist groups in Syria.

A report on the Australian daily “The Australian paper” said latest information indicate that counter-terrorism authorities in Australia have identified 70% of the Australians who are participating in killing the Syrians and destroying their infrastructure.
The paper affirmed that at least 4 Australian have been confirmed killed in Syria so far.
Australian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bob Carr said that the government was aware of reports that more than 100 Australians had joined the fighting in Syria since 2011.
Carr warned that Australians who take part in the fighting in Syria face up to 20 years in jail, reminding of the Crimes Act 1978 which states that “A person shall not enter a foreign state with intent to engage in a hostile activity.”
“Any Australian who recruits someone to fight overseas faces seven years’ imprisonment,” the spokesman added.
The Australian Foreign Ministry announced in a statement on January 2nd it was probing into an incident in which an Australian citizen was killed while fighting alongside the terrorists in Syria.
Western officials and media have admitted that thousands of foreign salafis and takfiris hav streamed into Syria, the majority of which are infiltrating through the Turkish borders.
Syria has been gripped by deadly turmoil since 2011, which has been hatched by foreign powers to destroy the ancient Arab country.
According to the United Nations, more than 100,000 people have been killed and millions of others displaced in the violence.
Reports indicate that Western powers and their regional allies - especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey - are supporting the militants operating inside the country.
