Russian or German?

Hello,

Recently I made acquaintance with a family from Russia who claim to be ethnically German. I understand that there are many ethnic Germans that have lived, or perhaps still live in Russia.

Here is a publicly posted picture of their son, who I would imagine to be 18-19. Perhaps a little young for classification, but it is all I have. How would he be classified?

He looks sort of Faelo-Balt to me. Faelid in overall head & face shape with Baltic inspired eye shape and nasal form.

Of course, this is only based on one picture, so some salt should be taken. ;)

I'd believe you if you told me that he is German and also if you told me that he is Russian. How's that for decisiveness? ;)

I agree with Allenson on the (East) Baltid/Faelid combination... but would think the Faelid influence to be rather minor.

I'd say more likely Russian than German.
