Russia is racing to have one of the first such weapons.
The official RIA Novosti news agency reported Sept. 7 that Russian defense authorities had decided to test the unmanned version of the Armata main battle tank, beginning in November.

Armata is a main brand of Russia’s tanks named after an ancient Russian cannon. …The plan has been to simplify the model numbers by replacing several types of tanks with just a couple.
