Those dragoons (who are actually usually mounted on Horses on parade, traditionally) are almost exactly identical to the Royal Mounted Police, save for the helmets. It's fitting because the RCMP was actually an active military cavalry unit just as the Dragoons are, and are infact Dragoons themselves originally under the command of Lord Strathcona's Regiment of Horses.

Quite the military heritage these Canadians have, with great battle and Royal honours. Except they carry C7's now instead of the traditional shortened, bolt action Ross Rifle suited to Cavalry units. :p

Officers and NCOs still carry their sabres to this day,
and still march to the bagpipes.

It's quite a sight to see them in person.
