In Africa, Spanish is official in Equatorial Guinea, as well as an official language of the African Union. While there is a Spanish literature community among the Sahrawi people, the Cervantes Institute has denied support and Spanish-language education to Sahrawis in Western Sahara and the Sahrawi refugee camps in Algeria.[55][56] A group of Sahrawi poets known as Generación de la Amistad saharaui produces Sahrawi literature in Spanish.[57]

Spanish is also spoken in the integral territories of Spain in North Africa, which include the Spanish cities of Ceuta and Melilla, the Plazas de soberanía, and the Canary Islands, archipelago located just off the northwest coast of mainland Africa. Within Northern Morocco, a former Spanish protectorate that is also geographically close to Spain, approximately 20,000 people speak Spanish as a second language, while Arabic is the de jure official language and French is a de facto official language.[58] A small number of Moroccan Jews also speak the Sephardic Spanish dialect Haketia (related to the Ladino dialect spoken in Israel). Spanish is spoken by some communities in Angola because of the Cuban influence from the Cold War and in South Sudan among South Sudanese natives that relocated to Cuba during the Sudanese wars and returned in time for their country's independence

Equatorial Guinea has no blood link whatsoever to Spain. At least in Philippines there are still a minority Spanish descendant, and in Hispanic America the most common blood is Spanish. But those Africans just learn the language, and only recently.

Their dialect of Spanish is closer to the way people in Castilla speak with all the TH sounds. :)

Despite a lot of oil reserve in Equatorial Guinea, the population are very poor, due an extreme dictatorship and tribalism. This shows even a small country like Equatorial Guinea with all the oil wealth for a small population that Africans are incapable to develop.

Ethnically they're Fangs, a Bantu nation. Spanish is spoken as a 2nd language.

Between 1778 and 1810, the territory of Equatorial Guinea was administered by the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata, based in Buenos Aires.
