It's originally Albanians dance, but become very popular and part of tradition of other nations, like Bosniaks and Serbs.
Even though for a long time the dance it on every celebration, in last time Serbs nationalists are trying to kick it out from Serbs tradition, claiming that origins of that dance is ritual when Albanian national hero Shote Galica with other Albanians would burn alive Serbs childern and dance around them(and what's a good Serbs story without part with brutally killed Serbs kids or or old people).

Well the dance is named after her heroic stand against Serbs, but the dance itself is a lot older. Shota and Azem's group were not after civilians and as a matter of fact Azem had good relations with the old Serbs, so their claim of burning Serbs does not stand. They were Kaqaks so they only fought with the authorities and the colonists that tried to act like it.

On the second thought, I think you should not dance it anymore as in few generation the likes of Rashka and Pazar would be swearing that we took it from them, like the other ones.

Who cares about them.
We don't negate it is Albanian dance, but that doesn't bother us to also use it, great dance.

That song is usually played at the weddings. I don't know much about it, even though I have heard of those stories but they are not reliable. Ugly song, nevertheless.

Which stories are they?
I was never aware how popular the song is with South Slavs.
