He might be. Just very tanned :)

He is from Palermo, Sicily. I think he is within the Sicilian range but I can see how someone might think Levantine. His phenotype would be rarer in Messina.

I think Egypt might be a bit of a stretch, but Lebanon yes.

Do you think genuinely "Middle Eastern" phenotypes are more common in Palermo, Trapani, etc. or in Messina, Catania, etc.?
Someone like this, I think, would stand out amongst my own relatives on one side at least.
