WildCat is a four-legged robot being developed to run fast on all types of terrain. So far WildCat has run at about 16 mph on flat terrain using bounding and galloping gaits. The video shows WildCat's best performance so far. WildCat is being developed by Boston Dynamics with funding from DARPA's M3 program.

I think BostonDynamics are working on these projects for Darpa, so there is some kind of military application in its future.

Yeah it's not, they advertise it all over their website. I can imagine these things whizzing along with turrets mounted just shooting everything in sight.

I was thinking about something along the lines of delivering supplies to remote locations. but yeah, that too.

a quiet version that doesn't run on a chainsaw engine at FULL torque would also help in wide acceptance (and military uses)
But this is awesome in any case, it really gallops like a horse and the other capabilities (self navigation and stability) are amazing

This is fucking awesome. Scares me because when the military takes this and enhances it and weaponizes it we're fucked but this is really cool. Human innovation man.
