His surname is northern.

Isn't there any picture where he isn't tanned? Looks Italian to me but not particularly Northern or Venetian.

Interesting
looks southern Italian
this may sound strange but he could fit in Mexico with no problem at all...

He looks very Italian to me. Pan look.
Looks like the Italians I see everyday on the doors, outside, of the grocery store.

He reminds me of this other North Italian, Cesare Prandelli.

Looks like some kind of Mizrahi Jew. Would not have guessed northern Italian.

Without tan and curly hair he would be certainly less exotic.

I've met Mexicans who didn't look too far off from his look, honestly. But I figure Roys has a point.

Prandelli above is from Lombardy like Berlusconi and both give the lie to a mainly blond population in Lombardy.

True.
Italians on anthroforums exaggerate their light pigmentation.

The North is predominately dark, on pair with the South.

Not a typical North Italian, looks like an Arab.

I think people are reacting the way the troll who opened the thread wanted to be. Dark/black curly hair is actually quite common in Southern Europe and not rare in Northern Europe.

And he looks Italian, way before any Arabian or Yemenite, unlike some people say.

Shit Americans really don't know what Europeans look like. He looks Italian, not anything else!

I am an American that sees Italians everyday and this guy would have a hard time passing for Sicilian(not saying it is impossible). Most would think he is Mexican here.

Do you see Italian-Italians, or American-Italians? And how can an ethnic Italian look more Mexican, than Italian? That doesn't even make any sense!

I live in Mexico and the football player fits perfectly here
he has an italian vibe for sure but believe me, he passes here unnoticed.

Italian Americans are pretty much full blooded they tend to stick together. I am telling straight this guy would have a hard time passing for even silician. He would be thought as Mexican here. He must be a very atypical italian

He doesn't look passable as Sicilian to me either. Sicilians that dark usually have more West Asian influence. Someone who is that dark but with those features will be taken for Brazilian or Hispanic here too.

Someone who is fully Italian looks Italian, anything else doesn't make any sense. Nobody said, that he is typical, and maybe he can pass in Mexico easily. But he is fully Italian and therefore looks Italian. Do you understand what I'm saying?

The class of Celtic-Germanic warriors, that Italians belong to.
He fits in the Alpine façade.
