I doubt anyone can find a way to criticize these photos. But I am sick of it. I can't win around here -- too many dark people and people get mad, too many light people and then someone else gets mad.

His photos aren't always horrible. I left out weird looking people from the Galician samples for this thread, there were a few.

France, most definitely.
France. (more than half can even pass). With these fitting best imo.

I think France is definitely the only place MOST of them can fit. They are darker than average for NW Europe and lighter than average for Sicily. And not Dinaric enough for northern Italy.

Heraus pictures aren't that terrible. He, at least, doesn't post cherrypicked supermodel and ripped actors, as most people like to post in "anthro" forums. People have always commented on how weird and ugly the persons he picked were and I've always thought that these individuals were so far from reality or they are in denial: people in the streets can look average, below average, have asymmetric faces, are fat or skinny, can look exotic, etc...
Of course, from time to time he gets very weird choices and even fakes but most of the time it's OK.
BTW, he's Gascon (Aquitanian, Southwestern France) and quite swarthy - dark hair/pilosity and tan easily - and his ADMIXTURE results show little West Asian ancestry and no African whatsoever.

I also disagree with this tendency of posting actors, singers and other sort of people who are chosen by their looks. It's better to post politicians, sportsmen/women, writers and random, anonymous people (group pictures for instance). As for Heraus, he has a tendency to pick up deformed people in a proportion higher than that of reality and he chooses quite often pictures with very bad lighting and weird angles that distort peoples' faces. I acknowledge his effort but it's not a good work.

I think very few of them would look typical outside of Palermo, where they'd be seen as "Norman" looking.
