King Herod the Great was half Idumean and half Arabian. His father belonged to the Idumean, a Semitic people who according to biblical tradition descent from Jacob's older brother Esau and hence also descendants of Issac and back to Abraham. On his mother's line he descent from the North Arabian tribe that eventually became called the Nabateans. The tradition of the Herods to intermarry with the Arab women seem to have been prevalent in this dynasty, till it's end.

He was half Arab those are facts.

He was a terrible, insane tyrant. He also collaborated with the Romans against his own people, he was a puppet.

He has been described as "a madman who murdered his own family and a great many rabbis", "the evil genius of the Judean nation", "prepared to commit any crime in order to gratify his unbounded ambition"

Um yeah, I don't think there's any doubt he's an arab.

Do we consider the edomites to be one of the lost tribes of Israel? I suspect not, but would like to have a confirmation of my belief.

Indeed him showing some similarity to Saddam Husain probably indicates his Arabian maternal roots.
