Scrutinizing the "Armenoid = Dinarised Iranid" notion

Physical anthropology sources from the 20th century, the most reliable-considered of which Coon, describe the 'Armenoid' racial type as being a hybrid of the Irano-Afghan and Alpine types, giving rise to the Dinaroid cranium. Since this theory enjoys the merit of Coon's authorship and that of several other characters in the field, it is usually taken at face value without much thought being put in to it.

Here are sets of textbook Iranid and Armenoid examples compared. Considering facial features, does the notion that Armenoids are Dinaricised Iranids seem very likely? I think not. Eyes, nose and lips are clearly distinct between the two types. More specifically, the Iranid noses and lips are thinner than those of Armenoids whilst the eyes are smaller and located closer to the brow ridge.

i totally agree on your comments.armenid face is different from both iranid and alpinid.and alpinidis were and are never numerous in west asia as europe.armenid is a race of its own that its roots goes back to hattis,hurrians and urartus.

Armenoid isn't alpinized iranid it's dinariZed iranid but theres does seem to be alpine influence as well . Dinaric is its own type. Dinaric + iranid + alpine is armenoid in my opinion because they have features of all those
