Those Altruistic Conspirators

Conspiracy theories are not all of a type. Nor are they all untrue, but most of them are. Most of them fail under the withering stare of cold simple logic.
The ones that can pass this test deserve closer examination.

One of those types of 'World Domination' plot types fails because it contradicts the very foundation of what we know of human nature. (There are other WDP's that don't have this flaw, or only to a small degree.)

It is the Theory that there is a hidden group (sometimes quite large) that has been laboring in obscurity behind the scenes, usually with little or no direct benefit to themselves, for the sole purpose of bringing to power some future generation that is not even their own familial descendants.
What is wrong with this picture?

The willingness to sacrifice ones own benefit and comfort for the sake of others one will never know is the living definition of altruism-selflessness.
The lust for power is the very heart of selfishness and greed. These two character traits cannot be reconciled in one individual. Those who desire power want that power for THEMSELVES and they want it NOW.

Can an individual work to see a group he belongs to succeed? Sure. Are people who wield power willing to sacrifice so that others in the future will have even more power to use towards TO EVIL ENDS? I cannot accept that. It would require a serious re-thinking of the definition of EVIL.
