I read many years ago that the answer to the old philosophical question:

"What happens when an Irresistible Force meets and Immovable Object?"

is simple:

One of them ceases to be Irresistible or Immovable.

I think it was Asimov who wrote that, but I could be wrong.

I think the question itself is flawed in any number of ways.

It may even be the wrong question entirely.

What faces us in the world today is another question (Presuming Civilization to be a Juggernaut):

What happens when the Juggernaut meets the Abyss?

The Abyss wins, every time.

Entropy 101: It's all downhill from here, whether you like it or not.

A sense of 1937 helplesness perhaps.
We know vaguely what is going to happen - there are too many random variables - but the direction is clearly predictable.
Certain things have to happen. What else these things further initiate is the crux of the question.
    Wishing us all well.
