My uncles DNA results

Got a Ancestry DNA-Kit for Christmas and used the opportunity to test my Uncle. He is the brother of my fathers mother so he should score pretty similiar to her.
23andMe would have been better I know but at least I get a good raw file to use on calculators.
3/4 of his family originated from Duvno and 1/4 from the vicinity of Doboj (Makljenovac). All of them are Croats.
Surname is Ljubic. Other ones I know are Rados and Zubak.

Literally the exact same results as mine but whatever.
Thats one reason why 23andMe would have been better.

He has much lower Red Sea than my father who is at 3.45 which makes me wonder where he inherited that amount from.
Also the East med is very high. My father is at about 13% even with 1/4 Serbian ancestry.

Uncommon Haplogroup for Hercegovina where the paternal Lineage is from but ive seen another Ljubic at FTDNA with the same one.

Im going to upload his DNA to MyHeritage too so I can see where most of his matches are from.

these are B&H Croat academic sample results. he's similar to cro_bos_1. the Bosnian sampels were taken from Maglaj and Zepce and Herzegovinian from Grude and Mostar.

Thanks, most of them arent very close to the Croat average but everyone bare for one who isnt very far away has over 30% Baltic. Also one other Person with very high Red Sea.

Oh that's really good. I was thinking the difference between his and your father's results (Red Sea, East Med, as you mentioned) may be partially due to the newer AncestryDNA data being inferior and therefore getting less SNP's on the runs. But yeah, that's not it.

Interesting that he get's Hungarian as 1st population on K15, but the distance is high, about the same distance I am from Hungarian in fact.

K15 gives weird far distances in general. The K15 map also points the dot somewhere entirely different than the oracle.

If only you could test your paternal grandfather or his close relative...

Seems for some people this calc is not so great, but for me it actually comes closest to my paper trail.

Yeah, the biggest problem is that he propably isnt even alive anymore and that we dont know any of his relatives.
